open meeting 01 - chicago computation group
The first meeting of the Chicago Computation Group held at the offices of the AIA: Chicago was a successful kickoff that introduced the group to a larger Chicago design community. We really enjoyed discussing the topic of computational design strategies but also how it fits into a larger context of designing better spaces, buildings, cities, etc. With each of the core group members discussing how they engage their respective disciplines and the various topics they are individually interested in the discussion illustrated the variety of approaches or ways to engage the topic of computational / parametric design.
Linked below are some images of the event and a video of the presentation so take a look and share any comments or thoughts that you might have.
The next meetings will be linking computational and parametric processes across different disciplines, the ways in which design schools in the area are utilizing computational tools, and advanced digital fabrication.
We look forward to seeing everyone there!
