open meeting 13 - high performance buildings: integrating data and design

open meeting 13 - high performance buildings: integrating data and designhttps://youtu.be/bLPM2c7ncls//about the eventExperts from Thornton Tomasetti, a global engineering firm, will discuss the integration of structure, facade, and sustainable design to support the creation of high performance buildings. They will share how the firm incorporate's environmental data and performance metrics in a parametric design process to utilize passive design strategies. Examples of collaboration with TT’s advanced computation modeling group, CORE studio, will be presented. With its Sustainability Practice, CORE develops tools to analyze and visualize strategies and meet design and performance goals. The speakers will demonstrate how using customized digital tools/automation procedures to model, simulate, and analyze buildings helps add value to a project through high and low tech strategies that create a comfortable, robust, and efficient building.Presenters:Robert K. Otani, PE, LEED AP BD+C, Principal, based in New York, NYColin Schless, LEED AP BD+C, CPHC, Senior Project Director, based in Portland, ME//  Robert and Colin gave a great talk about the integration of the work of their computation and sustainability groups with the design teams that they collaborate with.  Thanks again to SCB for hosting this great event and the AIA:Chicago for their continued support. Please check out the video and pictures from their presentation-
