open meeting 02 - computation as collaboration

http://youtu.be/w531BdV9NbU Mostapha Roudsari and Jonatan Schumacher from the Advanced Computation and Modeling Group at Thornton Tomasetti presented their work at a multidisciplinary practice that consults with design teams all over the world.   The discussion centered around the concept of computation as a collaboration tool and  the subjects of their presentation varied from the structural optimization of high-rise buildings, environmental design performance, interoperability and workflow development, and embodied carbon analysis.Below are links to images of the event and the video of the presentation and a big thank you to core member David LeFevre for organizing this event and to Gensler for hosting such a great event. The next meetings will be discussing the ways in which design schools in the area are utilizing computational tools, and advanced digital fabrication. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
